Rise Guide is built and operated by Voog LLC ("Voog," "we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Rise Guide iOS app ("the App") accesses, how that information is used, and the choices you have. We designed Rise Guide to be local-first: your health and lifestyle data stays on your iPhone. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or analyze your personal health data.
If anything below is unclear, contact us at support@voogllc.com.
1. The short version
- Your health data, daily check-ins, caffeine and alcohol logs, energy scores, streaks, AI chat history, and personal demographics stay on your device. They never reach a Voog server because we do not run one.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
- We use the TikTok Business SDK to measure the performance of our paid TikTok ad campaigns. It receives anonymous device metadata and a short list of app-level events (install, app launch, onboarding completion, trial start, subscription) — never your health data, check-ins, AI conversations, or any personal content. See Section 5 for details. We do not request the iOS cross-app advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Subscription billing is handled by Apple (the App Store) and RevenueCat (a billing-state SDK). They receive transaction information — never your health data.
- Apple's on-device AI ("Apple Intelligence") is used for the in-app chat feature. AI inference happens locally on your iPhone using Apple's Neural Engine. Your data is not sent to Apple's servers, OpenAI, or any third party for AI processing.
2. Information we access on your device
2.1 Apple Health (HealthKit)
With your explicit permission, the App reads the following from Apple Health to compute your daily Energy Score:
- Sleep analysis (asleep duration and sleep stages)
- Step count
- Active energy burned
- Workouts (type and duration)
- Heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV / SDNN)
- Resting heart rate
- Time in daylight (only on devices that record it, e.g., Apple Watch)
Health data read from HealthKit:
- Stays on your device. The App does not write data into Apple Health and does not transmit Health data off your device.
- Is processed locally to derive your Energy Score, predictions, trends, and tips.
- Can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Rise Guide, or iOS Settings → Apps → Health → Data Access & Devices.
You can use Rise Guide without granting HealthKit access. The score formula gracefully degrades and uses only your self-reported values.
2.2 Information you enter directly
The App asks you to optionally provide, and stores locally:
- Your first name (used only to greet you in the UI).
- Demographic information used to personalize sleep recommendations (age band, biological sex).
- Your primary wellness goal.
- Daily check-ins (perceived energy and restfulness sliders).
- Caffeine logs (type, serving size, and time).
- Alcohol logs.
- Your preferred notification times.
All of this is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. None of it is uploaded.
2.3 Information we do not collect
We do not collect, request, or have access to:
- Your name (beyond an optional first name stored on-device), email address, phone number, or postal address.
- Your precise location.
- Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- The iOS cross-app advertising identifier (IDFA). The App does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not collect IDFA.
We do not maintain a user account system and there is nothing to sign in to.
3. Apple Intelligence (on-device AI chat)
The App's "AI Chat" feature uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework (Apple Intelligence), available on supported iPhones running iOS 26 or later.
- Inference runs entirely on your device's Neural Engine. Your prompts, your data, and the AI's responses do not leave your iPhone.
- The AI tool used by the chat ("Rise Guide Status") reads your local SwiftData and Apple Health data on-device and feeds it to the on-device model so the assistant can answer questions about your patterns. The data and the conversation stay local.
- We do not log AI conversations anywhere outside your device. You can clear chat history any time using the refresh icon in the AI Chat tab.
If your device does not support Apple Intelligence, or you have it turned off, the AI Chat tab simply tells you it isn't available. No cloud fallback is attempted.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Rise Guide is a paid subscription app. Subscription processing happens entirely through Apple and RevenueCat.
4.1 Apple (App Store / StoreKit)
When you start a subscription, free trial, or restore purchases, Apple processes your payment under Apple's Privacy Policy and StoreKit. Voog never sees your Apple ID, payment method, or billing address.
4.2 RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat, Inc. as a third-party service to verify your subscription status across your devices and to fetch the available product list. RevenueCat receives:
- An anonymous user identifier generated on-device (not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID).
- The App Store transaction receipt for purchases / restores.
- Basic device and app metadata (iOS version, app version, device model, country code).
RevenueCat does not receive your health data, daily check-ins, or any wellness content from the App. RevenueCat's privacy practices are described at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
5. Advertising measurement (TikTok)
Rise Guide uses the TikTok Business SDK so we can understand which TikTok ad campaigns bring in new users and lead to paid subscriptions. This measurement helps us spend our marketing budget responsibly. Without it we would still advertise — we simply wouldn't know what was working.
5.1 What TikTok receives
At app install, app launch, onboarding completion, free-trial start, and paid subscription, the SDK transmits the following to TikTok's servers:
- Apple's vendor-scoped device identifier (IDFV) — unique to Voog apps on your device, never shared with other companies' apps.
- Standard device metadata: device model, iOS version, locale, app version, IP address, user-agent string.
- The event name (e.g., "Subscribe") and a timestamp.
- A TikTok-generated anonymous session ID.
5.2 What TikTok does NOT receive
- Your health data, sleep records, energy scores, caffeine or alcohol logs, daily check-ins, or any other wellness content.
- Your AI chat history or anything written in the AI Chat tab.
- Your name, email, phone number, postal address, or Apple ID.
- The iOS cross-app advertising identifier (IDFA). Rise Guide does not request it, so the field is always sent as zeros.
- Any account-level identity. We do not operate user accounts.
5.3 What TikTok does with this data
TikTok uses these events to attribute new installs and subscriptions back to specific ad campaigns, and to optimize ad delivery to users similar to those who convert. TikTok's general privacy practices are described at https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/us/privacy-policy/en.
5.4 Apple's SKAdNetwork
The App also participates in Apple's SKAdNetwork — a privacy-preserving advertising attribution framework built into iOS. SKAdNetwork postbacks are sent by Apple (not by us) to TikTok with coarse, aggregated conversion data; neither Voog nor TikTok can use these postbacks to identify you individually.
6. Notifications
Local push notifications are scheduled by the App on your device using Apple's notification framework. The notification content is generated on your iPhone — no Voog server is involved and notifications are not sent through Apple Push Notification service from us.
You can disable notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Rise Guide or in the App's Settings tab.
7. Crash diagnostics
The App may include Apple's standard crash and performance reporting (delivered to you and to us only if you have opted in to share App Analytics with developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements). This data is anonymized and aggregated by Apple. Voog cannot identify individual users from it. We do not currently use a third-party crash-reporting SDK. If we add one in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated and we will scrub all health-derived values from any reports before they leave the device.
8. Children's privacy
Rise Guide is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App, contact us at support@voogllc.com and we will help with any device-side data deletion.
9. Your choices and rights
Because all your personal data lives on your device, you control it directly:
- Access: Open the App. The Trends, Insights, History, and Settings tabs show everything the App stores about you.
- Correction: Edit or remove any caffeine log, alcohol log, or check-in directly in the App. Update demographic info in Settings.
- Deletion: Settings → Delete all local data wipes the entire on-device database, your widget snapshot, and resets the App. Uninstalling the App also removes everything except information already given to Apple's App Store under Apple's policy.
- Portability: A formal export feature is not yet available. If you need a copy of your data and you can't get it from the App, contact us at support@voogllc.com.
- HealthKit access: Revoke at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Rise Guide.
If you are a resident of California (CCPA/CPRA), the EEA / UK (GDPR), or any other jurisdiction with data-protection laws, you generally have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information that controllers hold about you. Because Voog does not hold a server-side copy of your personal information, the same rights are exercised by you directly on your device using the controls above. If you would like to exercise any of these rights against records that Voog or its processors (e.g., RevenueCat) may hold concerning your subscription, contact support@voogllc.com.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
10. Data retention
- On-device data: kept until you delete it (per-record edit, "Delete all local data" in Settings, or by uninstalling the App).
- RevenueCat subscription records: retained per RevenueCat's policy for as long as needed to operate the subscription and meet legal/accounting obligations.
- Apple App Store records: retained per Apple's policy.
11. International users
The App functions identically anywhere in the world. Because data stays on your device, no cross-border transfer of your personal data occurs from us. RevenueCat and Apple may transfer your subscription metadata internationally pursuant to their own privacy frameworks.
12. Security
We use Apple's standard platform security (iOS Data Protection, Keychain where applicable, on-device encryption at rest when your iPhone is locked). Network calls made by the App (subscription verification, App Store catalog fetches) use HTTPS. We do not implement custom cryptography. No method of digital storage is 100% secure, but because your health data does not leave your device, the attack surface is minimized to your device's own security posture.
13. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy at https://voogllc.com/riseguide/privacy/ with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the App. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
